Originally I started with the pick module, but I wanted more, so I bought the string module. It made a big difference to the actual feel of a string guitar.the nylon stings feel great ( no pressure ) on the fingers. In the app there is lots to choose from . I wish there were tutorials on the app alone. There is so much you can do.. I know there are some you tubers that try to teach on the app but it is not something that can be glossed over and start playing. Over all I love the feel and sound this guitar makes, have fun !
Imposible aburrirse!
Love it, the standard setting is excellent and more or less plays like a 'real' guitar including slides and hammer-ons. No string bending of course. The capo function, mute and resonance tapping work well. It is very sensitive on the nylon fretboard so does take some practice to fret the chords properly. The facility to change the notes is great but the drawback is you cannot change the scales from major to minor.
It's what I wanted so I could still play the guitar, since I have some problems with my joints. I chose E-guitar Clean as my favorite sound from the app, with light pluck sensitivity and 80% sustain, so it's the closest to the sound of the acoustic guitar I have. There's room for improvement with the sensitivity of the first 3 strings and some delays, but overall I'm happy with it :))
This new string kit for the CyberG is So Much Fun!! It makes teaching my grandkids basic chord shapes way easier & much less painful. Plus it's just so cool to hear a Guitar sounding like a Piano & the fact you can upgrade your existing CyberG makes it so Incredible!! Nicely Done Enya We Love this!
Once I remembered that it needed a firmware update, things went a little better than at first. D'oh!
It's a lovely thing. Just what I'd sort of hoped the Cyber-G was from the beginning. You see, I don't know how to play a keyboard, so the keyboard module just bothered me. I didn't like the limitations of the strum module. But then, I saw the string module, and YOINK!
It's very, VERY nice. I can play without nearly as much discomfort (I lost all my calluses in a freak boating accident), but I'm still trying to overcome the dreadful lag that hits once in a while, where I can't play a note to save my life without WAITING for the thing to let me. Sometimes, I can work my way through the melody line of "Malaguena", but others, I'm lucky to get more than one note out every 5 seconds. It's weird and maddening! (I found the manual, but it hasn't helped yet.)
Also, the electric guitar setting seems oddly shrill, almost as though transposed up half an octave. And it's got a wild tremulo that's out of place half the time. I wish there was a "clean" preset for it. I'd love it if some of the XMari's functionality was in it, with different presets that don't require picking a freakin' SONG to base it on. I mean, it's not like "Greenback Dollar" is in its repertoire, or "We Didn't Sink the Bismarck". "Morning Dew" by the Grateful Dead MIGHT be, but I didn't see it. My sister used to play it a lot on her acoustic. I can noodle it along from memory fairly well, given she used to play it in the late 60's.
All that said, it's still a really great instrument. Just being able to play for more than a few minutes, with these tender fingertips, helps a lot. But I have Zippy Slinkies on my XMari, and that's almost as good.
I do recommend it. I recommend it as the primary function of the Cyber-G. Not everyone who plays the guitar also knows piano/keyboard for a very unusual sort of keytar, and I'm unsure what to even consider the strum module. An electronic autoharp? (I have one, the Minichord synthesizer. It's fun to play.)
One thing that is vitally necessary for all of your instruments is when you only have the manual available through the app, please allow us to zoom into the text? If you're using the app on your phone, that's awfully small for a page you can't zoom into with two fingers, OR with a control. And you can't save it to the phone and open it with a PDF reader, either. If I might suggest putting it in EPUB format, and letting us download it, that would help a LOT. I'm still in the head-scratching mode regarding how to use most of the app's functions with the string module.
Pretty disappointed with this, my wife took it from the box and found only the first four frets work, and Enya G support is pretty hopeless, sent you an email and got no reply. Right now she has just had major surgery, so guess we'll have to wait until she comes home to see what can be done. Not impressed with ENYA and Cyber G. Guess the next move is to send it back for either replacement or money back
1. Tell customers which and what update to install before use, your website does NOT provide that info on the product page.
2. The acoustic guitar sound string 3 is abnormally loud compared to other strings. Even adjusting the string volumes does not help. Other guitar sounds are ok.
3. Pull offs do not work. If you play string 1 the first fret and pull off, the open string should ring.
4. The force technique cover works erraticaly, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.
5. It is not possible to play an open string and hammer on. The sound simply stops.
6. Guitar touch tapping technique is impossible. Look up Stanley Jordan to see what I mean.
Hi Oliver
I’ve just fitted the white Cyber‑G Strings module to my black Cyber‑G guitar because the black module wasn’t available anywhere. Sadly, the result is far from ideal. The stark white piece breaks the whole visual flow and cheapens the look of the guitar, making it resemble a plastic toy rather than the sleek, modern instrument it should be. Great hardware, but the forced colour mismatch really spoils the aesthetic. A lot of my friends have looked at the guitar and commented on the positive sound but said the black and white look is cheap and inexpensive.
Store owner replied:
Hi Oliver
That is a very kind off and one which I'll accept - the strings module is very important to my cyber G learning progression and would be more acceptable if all black.
Thank you for your great support as always and please invoice for the black version
Kind wishes
Mark
Leider kam es defekt bei mir an.
Leider hat bis jetzt sich niemand gemeldet.
it's no fun playing any notes. I can't play the notes. everything is done for me. I want a module like my friend have that I can play notes coordinated with the cord bar and the strings. I don't understand how it works when the neck and the strings play on their own.
