How to Replace the Inspire Pickup Selector Switch
Welcome to ENYA MUSIC Workshop 207. In this guide, we’ll show you how to replace the pickup selector switch on your Inspire.
Before Starting
Before starting, make sure you have a soldering iron and solder ready. We also recommend taking a few photos of the existing wiring for reference when reconnecting the wires later.
Unplug Connectors
Start by unplugging the small PCB connected by a plug above the pickup selector switch. This will clear some working space and make it easier to access the switch and its solder joints.
Desolder Joints
Turn on the soldering iron and let it preheat for at least three minutes. Once it reaches the proper temperature, place the tip on each solder joint until the solder melts, then carefully pull the wire away.
Once all the solder joints have been desoldered, the switch is ready to be removed.
Remove Switch
Flip the pickguard over and pull off the switch tip.
Place the new pickup selector switch into position and reverse the removal process.
Reconnect the wires to the new switch, then reconnect the PCB connector to complete the replacement.
Make Sure Everything Is Installed Correctly
Check that the new pickup selector switch is securely installed and that all wires are properly connected.
Once the pickguard and internal components are back in place, your Inspire is ready to play.
